Kremlin Cup; Johanna Konta and Cameron Norrie both gain impressive wins

On the Wednesday’s Kremlin Cup matches, both Johanna Konta and Cameron Norrie gained splendid wins as they are making the smooth progression into the tournament.

Konta, the British no. 1 made her first win against Elise Mertens and now the second win against Australian player Daria Gavrilova in under two hours 39 minutes. With this win, she has now made it into the quarterfinals of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

World no. 44 is planning to make her campaign for the year-end modestly with this tournament.

On the other hand, Norrie managed to book his place in the last 16 of the European Open after gaining a win against Spanish player Marcel Granollers. World No. 87 was facing off an opponent who was only eight rankings below him but still, he was unfazed by his opponent and gained a win by 6-3 and 6-2.

Now Norrie is set to face off the runner-up for the few years in the Antwerp, the second seed of the tournament; Diego Schwartzman.
