LeBron James to the rescue; saves Lakers from a harrowing defeat against Mavericks with free throw for 114-113

LeBron James made it to the Staples Centre on Halloween dressed as Jason from Friday the 13th movie franchise. This was not all; he also saved the LA Lakers from a horrific defeat five hours later with a free throw.

Four Times MVP scored in 29 points for the night with his last being a free throw with only 2.1 seconds remaining to the clock on Wednesday night game of Lakers vs. Mavericks. With this free throw, he managed to grab a 114-113 win for LA Lakers over the Dallas Mavericks.

James in a post match interview said, “I do not like the way we closed the game. However, we still played better for the most part of the game”.

James initially missed his first free throw but finished his second one successfully.

From Dallas side, Barrera missed a three-pointer near the end of the game and with this Lakers are now at 3-5.

Luke Walton; Lakers coach said, “NBA games are never over and you have to play them in a certain way. If you mess with the game, the game will mess with you and tonight we think we did a little bit of that. Hopefully, we can learn a lesson from it even if we won the game.”

Other Lakers players like JaVale added in 16 points, Kyle Kuzma scored 18 points and Ingram added in other 17 points.

On the Dallas Mavericks end, Matthews led the am with 21 points and Barnes added in 19 points. Mavericks with this attest defeat have lost five consecutive games and are now at 2-5.
