Ashleigh Barty won over Karolina Pliskova in their Miami Open final match to win her first Miami Open title. She is also the first Australian Woman to have managed to be in the world top 10 ranking since 2013.
22 years old Barty had to strike her career high of 15 aces in their game to win over Pliskova by 7-6 and 6-3 in a match that was played at Hard Rock Stadium.
Barty after winning the first set tie-break managed to open the 2nd set in a mere 16 minute time period.
From there on, the Czech player who earlier had to win her semi-final over Simona Halep had little resistance to defeat Barty.
Barty who earlier managed to reach the quarterfinals of the Australian Open back in January, pumped her fists in happiness as Pliskova handed in Barty her first biggest career win along with a 1.3 million dollars prize check.
