Minnesota Vikings after waiving off Daniel Carlson are expected to be signing kicker Dan Bailey

Minnesota Vikings might be signing a veteran player like Dan Bailey after waiving off their rookie kicker Daniel Carlson.

Carlson managed to get the spot of kicker on the team by beating Kai Forbath during training camp. Sadly his career with Vikings only lasted for two games.

The fifth round pick missed two key field goals in the 29-29 tie match against Green bay Packers. The second OT miss was a straight 35 yarder.

Head coach Mike Zimmer was already weary of Carlson’s performance when he missed two field goals in the two preseason games.

Mike said “it was n easy decision to let him go”.

Zimmer further added, “Yeah well that’s life as it is hard to figure out. You actually think you have got a guy but then he goes to miss three in a big game. You know these things happen I guess.”

Kevin Patra of the NFL.com reported that Vikings are looking to sign the Dallas Cowboys’ veteran kicker Dan Bailey who is regarded as the second most accurate kicker in entire NFL history.

Bailey was cut loose by Cowboys before the start of the season after four years of his seven years contract of 22.5 million dollars. This alone saved Dallas Cowboys a huge sum of 3.5 million dollars in salary cap.

30 years old Bailey had been dealing with groin pain since the most of the last season. He still aged to be only second behind Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker by making a career field goal average of 88.2 yards.
