Oleksandr Usyk told media that, the reason he has agreed to fight Tony Bellew because he wants to have his dream fight with Anthony Joshua”.
Usyk and Bellew are set to face off against each other on November 5th at the Manchester Arena. 31 years old Usyk the southpaw is going to defend his four world titles. According to his promoter Eddie Hearn, this is going to be the “Fight of 2018”.
Usyk nicknamed ‘The Cat”, has already won two times on British soil. Once was back in London 20132 Olympic when he won the Olympic Gold medal and second time he won the fight against the Cruiserweight champion; Liverpudlian.
Now Usyk is determinant to fight next with Anthony Joshua who retained his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against his fight with Povetkin held last Saturday.
Usyk told media that, “one reason that I have for fight with Bellew is to get to Joshua. It is exactly the part of strategy and we also have cooperation with Edie Hearn. Eddie has Tony, Joshua, Dillian White and couple of more heavyweight fighters. It is the best and shortest but certainly not the easiest way to fight with Anthony.”
On the other hand, Hearn told media that Joshua is 100 percent focused on fighting with Deontay Wilder net and he is hopeful that a deal could be made in coming few weeks.
Wilder on the other hand is also set to defend his WBC title against Tyson Fury on 1st December.
