Roger Federer swept pass Fabio Fognini to make it into the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters. The Swedish champion is now only three wins away from winning his 100th tour title for the career.
On Thursday, Federer defeated Fognini by 6-4 and 6-3 and now his set to face off Kei Nishikori to win a spot on the semi finals on Friday.
37 years old Federer, who won his 99th tour title at the Basel last week, the third seed did not seem ruthless on the court but still played rather marvelously to see of Fognini from the event.
Federer, the 20 times Grand Slam champion is playing for the first time in the Paris Masters since 2015. He already won the tournament seven years ago and is now looking to win it again.
As for Nishikori, he made it to the quarterfinals after defeating Anderson by 6-4 and 6-4 thus taking his revenge for the Erste bank final defeat.
Nishikori has a record of 6-2 against Federer and his last win against Federer was back in 2014.
