Record-breaking Bayern win Bundesliga – now for the Treble
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Bayern Munich once again underlined their dominance in German football by securing their 35th Bundesliga title with an impressive victory over Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. Although they only needed a draw to confirm the championship following Borussia Dortmund’s defeat a day earlier, Bayern delivered a statement performance, coming from behind to win 4-2 in style.

This triumph marks Bayern’s 13th title in the last 14 seasons, further cementing their position as the most dominant force in Bundesliga history. However, what makes this particular campaign stand out is not just the silverware, but the manner in which it has been achieved. Under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, Bayern have combined attacking brilliance with defensive solidity, creating one of the most complete teams the league has ever seen.

The title victory has also kept Bayern’s ambitions for a historic Treble firmly alive. With crucial semi-final fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League still to come, the Bavarian giants are in a strong position to add further trophies to their collection this season.

From the very beginning of the campaign, Bayern set the tone for what was to follow. A resounding 6-0 victory over RB Leipzig in their opening match sent a clear message to their rivals. Harry Kane, who delivered a hat-trick in that game, was joined on the scoresheet by Michael Olise and summer signing Luis Diaz. This attacking trio quickly established themselves as one of the most dangerous forward lines in European football.

As the season progressed, their chemistry and consistency became increasingly evident. Together, Kane, Olise, and Diaz have been responsible for a significant portion of Bayern’s goals, contributing 59 between them. Overall, the team has scored an astonishing 109 goals in the league, a figure that places them among the highest-scoring teams in Bundesliga history.

Only two sides had previously reached the 100-goal milestone in the competition—Bayern themselves in the 1971-72 and 2019-20 seasons. The fact that Kompany’s team has surpassed this mark with several matches still remaining highlights their extraordinary attacking capabilities. With upcoming fixtures against lower-ranked teams, including Wolfsburg and Heidenheim, Bayern could potentially push their tally even closer to 120 goals.

However, Bayern’s success this season has not been built solely on offensive firepower. Their defensive record has been equally impressive, conceding just 29 goals. This balance between attack and defense has been a key factor in their consistency and ability to dominate matches throughout the campaign.

If Bayern manage to win all their remaining games, they could equal the Bundesliga record for the highest points total in a single season, set at 91 points by Jupp Heynckes’ treble-winning side in 2013. Matching such a historic achievement would further reinforce the argument that this could be one of the greatest Bayern teams of all time.

At the heart of Bayern’s success has been Harry Kane, whose performances have been nothing short of exceptional. It was fitting that he found the net during the title-clinching victory, as he has been a central figure throughout the season. Since joining the club in 2023, Kane has scored an incredible 139 goals in 136 appearances, showcasing his remarkable consistency and goal-scoring ability.

This season alone, Kane has netted 32 goals in 27 Bundesliga matches, making him one of the most prolific players in Europe’s top leagues. Across all competitions, his tally stands at 50 goals, a figure unmatched by any other player in Europe’s top five leagues.

Kane’s impact extends beyond domestic competition. In the Champions League, he has been instrumental in Bayern’s progress to the semi-finals. Notably, he scored in both legs of the quarter-final against Real Madrid, helping his team secure a place in the last four for the first time since 2024. In doing so, he equaled Frank Lampard’s record as the highest-scoring English player in Champions League knockout stages with 15 goals.

Despite his individual success, Kane has consistently emphasized the importance of team achievements over personal accolades. He has acknowledged that winning major trophies such as the Champions League or the World Cup is essential for any player aspiring to claim the Ballon d’Or. With Bayern competing on multiple fronts and England preparing for the upcoming World Cup, Kane’s ambitions remain firmly focused on collective success.

Looking ahead, Bayern’s primary objective is to complete a historic Treble. The club has previously achieved this feat in 2013 and 2020, and replicating it in 2026 would place them in a unique position as the first European men’s team to win the Treble three times.

Kompany’s influence on the team has been significant. After a transitional first season in which players were adapting to his methods, the squad has now fully embraced his tactical approach. The improvement in cohesion, intensity, and execution has been evident throughout the campaign.

Kane himself has acknowledged the progress made under Kompany, noting that the team has developed a deeper understanding of the manager’s philosophy. This evolution has translated into better performances and greater consistency, making Bayern an even more formidable opponent.

With the season entering its निर्णing phase, the question now is whether any team can stop Bayern’s pursuit of further glory. Their combination of attacking flair, defensive resilience, and experienced leadership makes them strong contenders in every competition they are involved in.

As they celebrate yet another Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich have once again demonstrated why they are considered one of the most successful and respected clubs in world football. Whether this season ultimately becomes their greatest will depend on their ability to convert their current momentum into additional trophies.

For now, however, their achievements speak for themselves. A record-breaking attack, a solid defense, and a relentless winning mentality have defined a campaign that could go down in history as one of the finest in Bundesliga history.
