Redick misses his triple-double but 76ers still defeated Hornets by 118-114

According to JJ Redick, his last triple-double came in his high school days.  Redick said with a smile, Does High school even count? I mean all of us to have our own high school stories.”

Reddick was only 2 assists shy from making his first triple-double in NBA during his 761 games career. He finished for the Philadelphia 76ers with 27 rebounds along with 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead his team’s win over the Charlotte Hornets by 118-114 on Tuesday night. This was the fifth win for the 76ers in a row.

Reddick further told media, “I did not realize until T.J. came to and said dude you have 9 rebounds and 8 assists. I said I will be happy with a double-double. As long as I play well, 10 rebounds will fall in my lap.”

Other major players of 76ers like Ben Simmons, who led the team, scored 28 points while Jimmy Butler scored 23 points with 9 assists and Tobias Harris finished for the night with his 2 points and 12 rebounds.

Reddick in this game also scored 7 3-pointers, only 1 shy of making his career-high.

As for the Hornets, they were led by Jeremy Lamb who scored 26 points with 11 rebounds. However, he missed a floater during final moments which could have sent the game in OT. Kemba Walker finished for the Hornets with 21 points. Hornets are currently 31-39 on the regular season and with their last 5 losses, they are continuing on the path that ultimately leads them to fall off the playoff contention.

James Borrego, Hornets coach said, “we have to keep searching out for the answers and keep digging deep. That is all we can do now.”

Up next 76ers will host a game against the Boston Celtics while Hornets will host a game against the Timberwolves on Thursday night.
