Shanghai Masters; Kyle Edmund out after his defeat from Alexander Zverev

The star of the Shanghai Masters and Britain’s no. 1 Kyle Edmund has been brushed aside from Shanghai Masters after his match with Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals.

Edmund who was trying to reach in the semifinals of his first Masters’ event was not a match or the World no. 4 and the Masters champion; Zverev who defeated Edmund by 6-4 and 6-4.

Zverev made the best use of his both breakpoint serves and only made 12 unforced errors. While Edmund made 23 unforced errors. After this win, Zverev is set to face against Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals who defeated his opponent Kevin Anderson by 7-6 and 6-3.

With this latest win, Zverev has secured his position in the upcoming Nitto ATP Finals happening in London. Other players who have qualified for this eight-player tournament includes names like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Juan Martin del Potro.

As for Edmund, he is currently eight on the race for London event. He is 1590 points behind the current eight place contender Dominic Thiem.
