Stakes and Qualification Scenario

This is a do-or-die match for Afghanistan. They must win to stay in the tournament. Sri Lanka only need to avoid a big defeat to qualify for the Super Four.

Bangladesh are also waiting for the result. Their hopes depend on how this match goes.

If Sri Lanka score 150 batting first, Afghanistan must chase the target in only 11.4 overs to go through. If Afghanistan set 150 while batting first, Sri Lanka must be kept under 84 runs for Bangladesh to qualify.

Afghanistan have huge pressure on them. Sri Lanka will try to stay calm and play smart cricket.

Prediction – Who Will Win?

Sri Lanka look strong. Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Charith Asalanka can score big runs. Their bowlers Wanindu Hasaranga and Theekshana are very effective in these conditions.

Afghanistan depend on Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran for runs. Rashid Khan and Nabi will play key roles with both bat and ball. But conditions may not be easy for them.

Prediction: Sri Lanka are favourites to win. Afghanistan can win only if their spinners dominate.
