Terence Crawford defeats Jose Benavidez with his 12th-round barrage of punches

Terrance Crawford was able to defeat Jose Benavidez with only 12 seconds remaining for the 12th round of the match. This allowed him to regain his WBO Welterweight title of Omaha.

Crawford managed to give the audience a great finish for the fight by flooring his opponent with a devastating uppercut. He then continued with a barrage of rights which forced the referee to intervene from stopping the conquest at the time when judges were also totaling up their final scores.

American Crawford with career stats of 34-0 with 25 knockouts has his unbeaten record with the IBF Champion Errol Spence. He also managed to give the first loss to Benavidez who has the career stats of 27-1 now. Their fight was turned into a personal grudge for a long time.

Both opponents had made their bickering to turn into a serious hate until their Saturday night’s match. Crawford took a devastating start against Benavidez after being shoved on Friday night at the weigh in.

Few of the first rounds were not that fiery as expected but Benavidez managed to gain some foothold in the fourth round. However, Crawford managed to gain the foothold during the middle of the round and was well ahead on play cards until the 12th round.

As was promised, Crawford refused to shake hands with Benavidez post fight and he also said, “It was only a matter of time. He eventually slowed down immensely”.

He further stated, “He was clearly tired and once he was slowed down I could see him and I could catch him and I did it with an uppercut. It definitely feels too good to shut somebody up who had been talking for a long time. Now I am finally at ease”.
