On the Wednesday night game between Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, Russell Westbrook was more introspective than usual. The 2017 MVP was able to move on the to the third-place tie for the NBA’s list of triple doubles as he scored 23 points with his 19 rebounds and 15 assists for the night. Thunder’s were able to sweep the Cleveland Cavaliers by a victory of 100-83.
Westbrook who scored a triple-double in this game was his third in the season and all of them were in the last four games and this was his 107th triple-double of his career. He has matched the record for third place with Jason Kidd who took 1247 games to reach 107 while Westbrook took only 760 games.
Westbrook said to media, “I am extremely humbled, grateful and blessed to be able to have a chance and play and compete in the NBA. Jut to be named in the same line as Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson and Oscar and all the other guys is something I never even dreamt about. I take everything in and I never take it anything for granted”.
Jerami Grant from Thunder added his 21 points for the night which was shy 1 point from his season high.
Cavs were led by Jordan Clarkson with his 25 points while Colin Sexton scored 21 points with his 10 rebounds and Cedi Osman added in his 14 points with 10 rebounds.
Up next Cleveland Cavaliers will end their two-game road trip when they play against Boston Celtics on Friday night and as for Thunder’s they will wrap up their four-game homestead when they play against Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
