Towns scores 41 points as Timberwolves beat Thunder by 131-120

Karl Anthony Towns has lately been putting up some quite offensive numbers and it seems he only cares about wins.

Another one of the great performances from Towns helped the Minnesota Timberwolves to end their 3-game losing streak on Tuesday night. Towns, the star center of Timberwolves scored 41 points and fourteen rebounds to lead the Timberwolves for a win over the Paul George led OKC Thunder by 131-120.

In his last five games, Towns has now scored 183 points combined which is the best five-game stretch in the Timberwolves’ history. He only was one point short of tying his season-high points in this game.

Towns said, “You can have all the numbers you want but there are rarely any guys that are getting good stats on a team that is on losing end. We have got to find ways to win games. I would like to have more wins rather than good stats.”

This season, Minnesota Timberwolves have won all of their meetings against the OCK thunder are now 6-1 since the beginning of the season.

Derrick Rose scored 19 points while Andrew Wiggins added in his 18 points for Minnesota’s win, who are currently 6 games short of their playoff spot.

As for OKC Thunder, they were led by their star guard Russell Westbrook who scored 38 points. Paul George was playing once more for the Thunder after missing out on three games due to a shoulder injury. He scored a total of 25 points in this game.

George said, “The rhythm was a little off for me. Not only for me but with the guys out there. However, I feel just fine.”

Up next, Oklahoma City Thunder will be playing against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night while Minnesota Timberwolves will be up against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
