Wiggins scores 30 points to help Timberwolves push past Thunder by 114-112

On the Sunday night, the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off the victory, which was perhaps their best win of this season.

Andrew Wiggins led the Timberwolves with his 30 points and a hit go-ahead layup with 14 seconds to the game to allow them to push pat the Oklahoma City Thunder to win by 114-112.

This win was the first for the Minnesota Timberwolves on road against a Western Conference team this season. What is more surprising was that they won this game against a Thunder squad with the best record in the West.

Wiggins talking about team’s win, said, “this win was very important for us, at home, we have been solid, but on road is what has been really killing us. Hopefully, this win will keep us going and we can build on this to continue to rise and get better.”

Wiggins was able to make his 11 of 20 total shots along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Other players from Timberwolves like Karl-Anthony Towns scored 18 points while Robert Covington added in his 13 points for the team.

Tom Thibodeau, head coach of the Timberwolves said, “Wigs had a monster game for us and the many of our guys stepped up and made some real nice timely plays.”

As for Oklahoma City Thunder, they were led by Paul George who scored 31 points with his 11 rebounds. However, George still missed a crucial 3-pointer at the buzzer, which could have on the game for the Thunder.

Russell Westbrook of the Thunder added in his 23 points with 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Up next, Minnesota Timberwolves will play against Chicago Bulls on Wednesday while Oklahoma City Thunders will play against Houston Rockets on Tuesday.
