The Blaze completed a domestic treble on Saturday, September 19, beating Hampshire by three wickets in a last-ball finish to the Metro Bank Women’s One-Day Cup final at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton. Chasing 252, The Blaze reached 254 for 7 when Emma Jones swept the final delivery of the match, bowled by Daisy Gibb, to the boundary with two runs required.
Hampshire, beaten finalists against Lancashire in 2025, had posted 251 for 9 from their 50 overs after fifties from Ella McCaughan (78) and Freya Kemp (52 from 46 balls). Lucy Higham was the pick of The Blaze’s bowlers with 4 for 49.
The chase appeared to be under control when Tammy Beaumont (74) and Georgia Elwiss (64) made half-centuries, Beaumont adding 95 for an early wicket partnership with Sarah Bryce. But Hampshire’s spinners dragged the game back, Amanda-Jade Wellington taking 3 for 36 and Bex Tyson 2 for 46 as four wickets fell for 29 runs, leaving The Blaze needing 30 from the final three overs.
Jones held her nerve with an unbeaten 34 from 25 balls to see her side home off the last ball. The victory adds the One-Day Cup to the T20 Blast and County Cup titles The Blaze had already won this season, sealing a clean sweep of the 2026 women’s domestic competitions.
