Kyle Edmund finally won his first ATP Tour Title after defeating his European final opponent Gael Monfils on Sunday.
With this, Edmund is now going to climb a career high of rank 14 on world rankings. He is able to manage this along with his first grand slam semi final in Australia earlier this year in which he took the British no. 1 spot from Andy Murray.
Edmund was able to gain a tight win against Monfils at Antwerp by 3-6, 7-6 and 7-6.
Edmund after receiving his trophy said to media, “I am obviously very happy. A lot of hard work has been placed in this by me. So it is very emotional for me as well. You always remember your first one. Gael really made me work for it today, so credit to him. I am just so much happy”.
