China Open; Caroline Wozniacki wins the final

Caroline Wozniacki wins the 30th WTA Singles victory in her match against Anastasija Seveastova in the final of China Open on Sunday. She said that with this win she has finally fulfilled her childhood dream.

Danish no. 2 had been performing in full form since last week in Beijing and never dropped a set while not even looking slightly troubled in all of her matches. She maintained this until the end against the final’s opponent; the unseeded player Anastasija Seveastova by securing a win with 6-3 and 6-3.

The former no.12, Wozniacki said that, I am just happy to have reached the mark of 30 today and I am going to thoroughly enjoy it”.

She further said to media after her match that, “ever since childhood, I had a dream of becoming a professional tennis player and to be the world number 1. After becoming number 1 I had another goal of winning a Slam and then I wanted to lift the trophies. To have done each of those things is pretty amazing. Although I had a dream of that, but I did not know as to how realistic it was going to be”.

Wozniacki was ruthless on her serves of the first round and determined her superiority with an overhead smash.

28 years old Seveastova is now out of the top 10 rankings after her splendid run in the China Open.

Seveastova talked to media post game, “She did not give me any presents and it was certainly tough.

Seveastova previously retired from sport back in March of 2013 because of her injuries but finally made a comeback in January of 2015.
