Le’Veon Bell still remained a no-show at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday morning even after the trade deadline.
Currently Bell only has two weeks remaining for making a report and be eligible to play this season. The hard deadline until which he can report to the team is on November 13th.
The last date many were hoping for Le’Veon Bell to report at the team was supposedly Tuesday. However, the All-Pro did not pert and this has caused a fiery debate about his future with the team.
Steelers had to start the meeting on Wednesday without Bell’s presence and with this James Conner remains the primary running back for the Steelers.
In the last three consecutive games, Conner has 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also made 212 yards from Scrimmage on Sunday night football game.
Bell was required to report on Tuesday at about 8: 00 P.M. GMT; the deadline for the league trade. Until that time he could have signed his one year contact with the franchise which would have made him eligible for trade.
Since he has not signed this contact, he now remains on the rollout and will not be traded. In case he reports now, then he will only play for Steelers unless the team rescinds its franchise tag.
This season, Bell has already forfeited is 7 million dollars in salary.
None of the active running backs in the NFL earn more than 6.3 million dollars in salary. This sum is currently being earned only by LeSean McCoy of the Buffalo Bills.
