Nick Kyrgios’s shocking exit from Shanghai Masters at opening round

Nick Kyrgios suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of the world no. 104 Bradley Klahn during the first round of the Shanghai Masters.

Nick Kyrgios has fallen below to world no. 38 which s his lowest ranking since February of 2016. He was accused of borderline tanking towards the chair umpire Damien Dumusois during his match against American qualifier which resulted in Kyrgios’s defeat by 4-6, 4-6 and 6-3.

Kyrgios also lost his opener at the event last year and was also suspended to qualify for 8 ATP tournament weeks due to his behavior during 2016’s vent.

23 years old Kyrgios stated off great as he secured the first set. However, Klahn responded well in the remaining sets and secured a surprising victory over Kyrgios.

Kyrgios after losing left the court in the disillusioned state while using his phone. As of Klahn who made it into the world top 200s earlier this year, made only 7 unforced errors during his entire match.

Klahn’s next match Is up against the 13th seed player Borna Coric who recently managed to defeat the Grand Slam Champion; Stan Wawrinka in their four meetings with a comeback in this one. Wawrinka lost to Coric by 4-6, 6-4 and 6-3.

As for Milos Raonic, he also suffered an early exit as he lost to the qualifier, Mackenzie McDonald.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, whose earlier run at the Tokyo last week was not good enough, managed to take a spot at the NextGen ATP Finals after settling a victory over Gael Monfils.

20 years old Stefanos managed to gain victory over the seasoned Frenchman in under two hours and 33 minutes by 7-6, 4-6 and 6-4. He is now up against Karen Khachanov for his next match.

Sam Querrey defeated his American opponent, the world no. 16 Diego Schwartzman by 6-3 and 6-4 in 67 minutes. His next match is against his own countryman Taylor Fritz ho defeated Robin Haase by 6-3 and 7-6.
