On Wednesday, the center for the New Jersey Devils announced splendid news about his health, “my cancer is gone. It is in full molecular remission and I feel very good. The progression was happening in the last few tests and when I told my wife she was excited and got pretty emotional”.
Boyle, who is amongst one of the most respected payers in NHL, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia back in September of 2017. The cancer was noticed in the training camp’s routine blood test of the physical.
Boyle at that time updated his fans about his health and also told that the full emission could take up to 18 months. Fortunately and miraculously it happened in only one year. This great news was received by Boyle on Monday morning after his blood test reports came in from the lab.
Boyle despite being diagnosed with cancer still played last season for 69 games. He scored in 13 goals last season. He also played in the All-star Game and was awarded ‘Bill Matterson Award”. The award was given by the Professional Hockey Writers Association for Boyle’s perseverance and dedication to the sport of Hockey.
He also played this season as well and has scored 3 goals until now. He is currently on medication and is being monitored by doctors.
