Formula 1 has published its 2027 calendar, a 24-round season that opens in Bahrain on March 12-14 and finishes in Abu Dhabi on December 10-12. The schedule, announced on Wednesday, September 16, expands the Sprint format to a record 10 weekends and brings the Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimão (June 18-20) and the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park (October 1-3) back onto the calendar. Portugal returns on a two-year deal after last hosting in 2021, while Türkiye has signed a five-year agreement running to 2031.
Five venues will host a Sprint for the first time – Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi – joining Canada, Great Britain, Italy, São Paulo and Qatar, which retain the format. Monaco keeps its June slot (June 4-6) and becomes a Sprint weekend, and pre-season testing is cut to a single four-day session in Bahrain from February 24-27.
The early season runs Bahrain and Saudi Arabia (March 19-21) as a double header before an Australia (April 2-4), Japan (April 9-11) and China (April 16-18) triple header. Miami (April 30-May 2), Canada (May 21-23), Monaco and Portugal follow, then Silverstone (July 2-4) and Austria (July 9-11) and a Belgium (July 23-25) and Hungary (July 30-August 1) double header before the summer break.
After the break come Monza (September 3-5) and the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid (September 10-12), a Baku (September 24-26), Istanbul and Singapore (October 8-10) triple header, and the Americas swing of Austin (October 22-24), Mexico City (October 29-31) and São Paulo (November 5-7). Las Vegas (November 18-20) precedes the closing Qatar (December 3-5) and Abu Dhabi double header. F1 says the regional grouping of races is designed to reduce freight and travel as part of its sustainability programme.
Before then, the 2026 season resumes with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, where the race is run on a Saturday this year: practice on Thursday, September 24, qualifying at 4pm local time (12pm GMT) on Friday, September 25, and the 51-lap Grand Prix at 3pm local (11am GMT) on Saturday, September 26.
