Like everything else Miami Heat planned this season, the last shot of the Tuesday night game did not go as they planned.
Richardson’s shot with 2 seconds remaining to the clock, bounced off the rim of the basket as the time ran out for Miami Heat. As for Atlanta Hawks who wasted every bit of their 19 points lead against Miami, they were able to escape the gruesome defeat to come out victorious for the night by 115-113 on Tuesday night basketball.
Lloyd Pierce, the head coach of Hawks after the game said to media, “things just went kind of our way. But we will take this win.”
Atlanta Hawks have finally snapped their 7-game long road slide with this victory.
Hawks were led by Taurean Prince with his 18 points and Trae Young added in his 17 points with 10 assists whereas John Collins finished for the night with 16 points. Atlanta Hawks now stand 2-0 against Miami Heat and 3-16 against everyone else this season.
Miami were led by Richardson for the night who scored 22 points. Wade scored 18 points and Ellington pitched in his 15 points for the Miami. Lastly, Bam Adebayo scored 12 points for the night.
While Miami lost the match they scored their season high 38 points in the first quarter. However, they were caught up by hawks in the second quarter who maintained the lead of 19 points for the most part of the game.
In the end, Richardson’s miss at the end cost them the game.
Hawks will visit Charlotte for a game on Wednesday and as for Heat, they will host a game for New Orleans on Friday.
