Scottie Scheffler has 22 PGA Tour wins, four major titles, an Olympic gold medal and two FedExCup crowns, and he’s held the world No. 1 ranking without a break since May 2023. Add four straight Player of the Year awards and a new all-time money record, and you’re looking at the most complete résumé in golf right now.
How Scottie Scheffler got here
It didn’t happen overnight. Scheffler was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey, grew up in Dallas, played his college golf at the University of Texas and turned pro in 2018. He spent a year on the Korn Ferry Tour, then spent his first full PGA Tour seasons piling up top 10s without a trophy. That changed in February 2022 at the WM Phoenix Open, where he beat Patrick Cantlay in a playoff.
What followed was one of the fastest climbs the game has seen. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational three weeks later, then the WGC Match Play in Austin, and that result lifted him to world No. 1 on March 27, 2022. Two weeks after that he had a green jacket. Four wins in six starts, and suddenly the quiet kid from Texas was the man to beat.
PGA Tour wins by season
Here’s the season by season picture, using the win totals on his official PGA Tour profile and the Golf Channel list of all 22 titles. Olympic gold and his Hero World Challenge wins aren’t in these numbers, because they don’t count as official tour wins.
| Season | PGA Tour wins | Majors | Titles won |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 4 | 1 | WM Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, WGC Match Play, Masters |
| 2023 | 2 | 0 | WM Phoenix Open, The Players Championship |
| 2024 | 7 | 1 | Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players, Masters, RBC Heritage, Memorial, Travelers, Tour Championship |
| 2025 | 6 | 2 | CJ Cup Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, Memorial, The Open, BMW Championship, Procore Championship |
| 2026 | 3 | 0 | The American Express, FedEx St. Jude Championship, Tour Championship |
| Total | 22 | 4 | Plus Olympic gold (2024) and FedExCup titles in 2024 and 2026 |
Look at 2024 and 2025 together. Thirteen wins in two years. When he took the Procore Championship in September 2025, the PGA Tour noted he’d joined Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer as the only players since 1960 to win at least six times in back to back seasons. That’s the company he keeps now.

The four majors
Scheffler’s major record is short but brutal. He won the 2022 Masters by three over Rory McIlroy, then collected a second green jacket in 2024 by four over Ludvig Ã…berg. In 2025 he added the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and then The Open at Royal Portrush, where he shot 17 under to beat Harris English by four. According to the PGA Tour’s Portrush report, that made him one of only a handful of players, alongside Nicklaus, Gary Player and Woods, to win the Masters, PGA and Open before turning 30.
Only the U.S. Open is missing for the career Grand Slam. He came close at Shinnecock Hills in June 2026, playing in the final group on Sunday, but a closing 71 left him tied fourth behind Wyndham Clark. It was that kind of year in the majors: second at Augusta, tied fourth at the U.S. Open and tied fourth again at The Open, where he was the defending champion.
Weeks at world No. 1 and the Olympic gold
The Official World Golf Ranking tells the story better than any adjective. Scheffler’s current spell at the top started on May 21, 2023 and hasn’t ended. The list of world No. 1 golfers puts his total past 200 weeks, which ranks third all time behind only Woods and Greg Norman. By late August 2026, Sports Illustrated reported his ranking points were nearly double those of world No. 2 McIlroy.
Then there’s Paris. At the 2024 Olympics he started the last round four shots back at Le Golf National, played the back nine in 29 and signed for a 62 that matched the course record. At 19 under, he beat Tommy Fleetwood by a shot for gold, as Olympics.com recorded.

The 2026 season so far
By his own ridiculous standards, 2026 started slowly. He won The American Express in January, his 20th tour title, which pushed him past $100 million in career earnings. After that came a run of near misses: solo second at the Masters, a playoff loss to Matt Fitzpatrick at the RBC Heritage, second again at the Cadillac Championship and another playoff defeat to Viktor Hovland at the Travelers. He even missed a cut at the Genesis Scottish Open, snapping a streak of 78 straight made cuts.
Then the playoffs arrived. Scheffler won the FedEx St. Jude Championship by eight, and on August 30 he came from three back at East Lake to win the Tour Championship by three over Hovland. NBC Sports pointed out that the win made him only the third multiple FedExCup champion, after Woods and McIlroy. The $10 million prize also took his official career earnings to $130,390,661, past Woods’ old mark of $120,999,166. Three wins, five runner ups and 19 cuts made from 20 starts. Not bad for a “down” year.
What makes his game so hard to beat
Start with the ball striking. In 2023 Scheffler averaged roughly 2.6 strokes gained tee to green per round, a figure the PGA Tour’s stats report ranked among the best seasons on record, second only to Woods in 2006. He isn’t the longest hitter out there, but he keeps it in play and his iron play is relentless. He tends to aim at the safe side of greens rather than chase flags, so his misses rarely cost him much.
The putter used to be the catch. Scheffler finished outside the top 100 in strokes gained putting in 2023, so he brought in putting coach Phil Kenyon after that season and switched to a TaylorMade Spider mallet at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational. He won that week, and seven times that year. That’s the scary part: fix the one weak spot of a great ball striker and the wins pile up fast.
There’s the swing itself too, with that famous sliding back foot, built over years with Randy Smith, the Royal Oaks pro who’s coached him since childhood. Nobody tried to iron out the quirks. Add a calm, almost boring temperament, and you’ve got a player who rarely beats himself.
