The recently deceased Paul Allen’s sister, Jody Allen is going to take charge for his NFL team Seattle Seahawks and the NBA team Portland Blazers soon.
According to Paul’s family, Jody has been entrusted as the executor and trustee of Paul Allen’s estate and hence she will be taking the ownership of both his sports franchises.
Paul Allen the co-founder of Microsoft, died last week ago after struggling with his long battle with cancer.
In addition to these two completely owned sort franchise, Paul Allen’s sports company; Vulcan Sports & Entertainment also owns a minority stake in an MLS franchise “Seattle Sounders”.
Jody Allen in a statement said to media that, “I have been entrusted with a great responsibility to steward my brother’s wealth. I am going to perform my best to ensure that Paul’s vision is realized and not for mere years but for generations to come”.
Paul Allen bought the Seattle Seahawk from its previous owner Ken Behring back in 1996 when Ken threatened to move his entire team to Anaheim, California.
After buying this team he said to the press, “If I entered in the NBA out of my passion for the sport, I was called into NFL out of civic duty”.
As for NBA team Portland Trail Blazers, Paul Allen bought it back in 1988 from a real estate developer named Larry Weinberg for a sum of 70 million dollars.
