WWE Raw came from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, September 21, with two Money in the Bank qualifying matches decided and one of them thrown into chaos before the bell.
Solo Sikoa was scheduled for the men’s triple threat qualifier but was abducted backstage by Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price. General manager Adam Pearce installed Penta in his place, and the luchador beat Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee. Mysterio exposed a top turnbuckle late on, only for Penta to send him into it face-first before finishing the match with a springboard Mexican Destroyer.
Roxanne Perez took the women’s spot, winning a triple threat against Iyo Sky and La Catalina. Sky hit the Over The Moonsault on Catalina, but Perez avoided the follow-up and landed Pop Rox on Sky for the pin.
Elsewhere on the card, Lyra Valkyria beat Bayley in a rematch between the former allies, using the ropes for leverage on the pinfall, and Je’Von Evans beat Bron Breakker by disqualification, with Oba Femi returning to help Evans. Penta had opened the show addressing his World Heavyweight Championship loss to Roman Reigns in Mexico City and demanding a rematch, before being attacked by Mysterio and JD McDonagh. LA Knight later said he intends to take the title from Reigns at Money in the Bank, and Pearce introduced Lola Vice as the newest member of the Raw roster.
